A Totally New & Different Ford Fusion Is Heading Our Way For 2019

Recently Ford shocked the automotive world with news that it was going to thin the heard and scale back the size of its lineup and eliminate many of its cars and sedans to focus on trucks and SUVs. While this may make many Ford car lovers nervous, the Ford Fusion has been saved. However, it is getting a complete overhaul for the 2019 model year and will be longer, taller, and larger than ever before.

The current Fusion model that we have come to know and love was last updated seven years ago and has been a leader among midsize cars for style and efficiency. The new 2019 Ford Fusion is going to hold on to or improve its efficient and thrilling performance for the upcoming year. But the 2019 Fusion won't look anything like its predecessor.

The new Ford Fusion is going from a sedan to a wagon that is set to rival the competition. Ford is keeping the name Fusion while changing the body style to maintain the fusions "awareness, positive imagery and value with consumers,” said Mike Levine, Ford North America product communications manager. The driving force behind the shift from sedan to crossover is based on consumer buying trends. The larger, wagon-style Fusion will offer customers a taller ride height, a more spacious interior, and more flexible cargo room. Which is exactly what drivers are looking for in a crossover SUV or hatchback.

A new bold look isn't the only thing that the 2019 Ford Fusion is going to bring to the table. There is going to be a significant increase in the number of advanced safety and technology features that includes Ford's Co-Pilot360 standard. Which includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot warning and a reverse camera. This will be the debut of Ford new Co-Pilot360 Driver Assist Technology. Other technology updates the 2019 Fusion will receive is an 8-inch LDC touchscreen with SYNC3 with Wi-Fi hotspot, voice-activated navigation with pinch-to-zoom capability, and SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link.

When it comes to performance the 2019 Ford Fusion is set to deliver even better efficiency than ever before with a standard 1.5-liter EcoBoost and updated hybrid powertrains that are 20% more efficient. The Fusion V6 also isn't going anywhere and will come standard with all-wheel-drive and a 325 horsepower V6 engine. In addition to the hybrid lineup, there is the arrival of the 2019 Fusion Energi Titanium which delivers increased electric-only driving range.

There hasn't been a release date for the exciting new 2019 Ford Fusion but stay tuned for more news about when you can expect to see one here at Paoli Ford. We will also keep you posted on any further news updates about what you can expect from the 2019 Ford Fusion.
