The Power-Hungry & Tech-Packed 2019 Ford Mustang BULLITT—An Homage to the Original 1968 Mustang GT Fastback

Does anyone out there in West Chester, PA remember the 1968 Mustang GT Fastback from the movie "BULLITT"? Well, the rumors are true—Ford is releasing a 2019 Mustang BULLITT to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the movie and the ironic original fastback that inspired generations of muscle-car fans. While it's not out yet, we at Paoli Ford are certainly excited to see one up close and personal when it's released. For now, we'll have to settle for these fast facts.

Fast Facts About This Incredible Ford Fastback:

  1. The new Mustang BULLITT is an homage to the famed 1968 movie car, the Mustang GT Fastback that played costar with Steve McQueen in the film "BULLITT".
  2. That tip-of-the-hat comes in more than name alone—the new Mustang BULLITT uses some aesthetic cues to reminisce on that well-loved fastback from the film. With available Dark Highland Green exterior paint with careful chrome accents, the new Ford Mustang BULLITT offers a substantially "classic" feeling, but Malvern drivers will love the modern tech!
  3. While firm figures aren't in, the 2018 Mustang BULLITT will feature a 5.0-liter V8 engine rated at least at 475 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, which should make that cue-ball shifter mighty fun to play with.
  4. There's only one transmission to pair with this fastback's rip-roaring engine—a six-speed manual that will even bear a cue ball as the shift knob, which should ring familiar for those who remember the original.
